I don't think there is anything wrong with what kinect does. The problem will be that some games will start to require it like fable, halo, or gears of war. There won't be as many good games coming out because they have to be good in the first place and now they won't have to use kinect. There will be good games that use kinect though.

Wrong. Kinect is being used for causal games. All the GOOD titles are safe. Their developers know its smart to avoid. They probably will develop completely new projects to be started on Kinect, but actually targeted at hardcore gamers. Thats the only way it will be successful.

Actually I don't think its that they know that it would ruin good titles but more that they can't. If M$ made it so games like Halo and CoD were Kinect compatible they would either have to make the whole game have to be Kinect compatible forcing fans to buy it in order to play or give players using kinect either a advantage or a disadvantage while playing online.

Microsoft only licenses the titles, they have no direct influence in what the developers must use to make the game. However, Halo is completely owned by M$, so it is possible that they could influence something. It doesn't matter though because the last Halo game being made by Bungie is Halo: Reach. Everything after that won't be that great anyway.

If its aimed at the casual audience then I don't see why you have a problem with it. Its not like it will effect anything your playing.

It's because they made it seem like it would appeal to a wide variety of gamers, not just the casual group. On top of that, they are only mimicking the content that the Wii started with, making it a rip-off for anybody who already has that little white box. Also, the Wii launched with titles such as Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which would sell to all audiences; Kinect is launching with Kinect adventures...Kinect sports...and some other junk that nobody cares about. Microsoft is trying to sell us the gimmicky content that Nintendo used only to show the Wii's capabilities.

How would you aim with kinect?

You say "guy on the left. head shot." :P

Well, I don't think a shooter is really doable on Kinect. You simply can't do two things at the same time. It just doesn't work. You either move by... well, moving or you shoot. Somehow.

I think it was some guy at Rare that said a shooter would be possible. In fact, I have no doubt that it would be. It probably wouldn't be fun though...
