    banjo Kazooie replica

I've been thinking about this for a long time, and i think it would be a great idea to make like a publicity stunt.

How about letting 3 good builders (iron, me and hogs). Rebuild banjo kazooie in Nuts & Bolts, with an editied version of the game, and test o track which serves to show banjo in the gigantic vehicle (so no walls, only a floor).

Think about it: A full game replicated by 3 players (in a few month's ofcourse).

    Re: banjo Kazooie replica

Where do you plan to get this "edited version of the game"?
It sounds like an intersection idea if it were possible but I doubt there are mods in existence that could create such a game.

I don't get it. Do you mean your going to make vehicles to replicate the original banjo-kazooie or something? Or is this something else? Either way, you have at least caught my interest.

    Re: banjo Kazooie replica

I under stand what he wants to do, he want to make the entire original Banjo kazooie game. Lair only I think, and won't include walls but one thing I don't understand is how the entire game is going to fit in the Test-o-Track. It sounds cool, but I think it will lag the game.

    Re: banjo Kazooie replica

Yes, i mean an heavily modded version of the game.

With only the vehicle creator and a test o track to prevent to much lag.

Also the test o track would just be a white area endless area.

And if i would build something like that, i would customly build walls, clouds, air etc.

See it as a model where you can actually walk trough.

I meant getting the modded version from rare or something, i doubt anyone can created something like that with a modded save file or a modded xbox unless they have alot of expierence.

    EDIT: I'll explain again.

    1. Three builders are going to build banjo-kazooie completly (with walls and sky).

    2. We need a modded version of the game with only a vehicle creator and a test-o-track for minimum lag.

    3. The test-o-track will must be a black or white space where there's only a invisible floor but no walls to house the vehicle.

    4. This will be a publicity stunt, come on, in which (modded) game can you build an entire platforming game?

    Re: banjo Kazooie replica

Well this would require a form of bsp editing, and collision editing. This cannot be done on even most original xbox games. Removing all content besides the testotrack and and vehicle creator would not be difficult. But this wouldn't reduce lag. Everything else is loaded separately, and the only way to reduce lag would be to make the engine do less. In other words, this is a hopeless endeavor.

    Re: banjo Kazooie replica

Hopeless? I don't think entirely. While having only the intro, loading, menus, pause screen, test-o-track, vehicle creator and etc could be difficult, the only way is see lag is if we break the parts limit. (Which of course we have to.) and or the size of vehicle. (Again which we definetly have to do.) One thing I don't understand is, would this be online? Or if you got this to work, you'd post it on youtube and a tutorial on how to hack/break the game? I mean because surely not only you and two others would get the treat of said thing. Please, do tell in depth detail. Also, if you got this to work, would you make a tooie next? Or possibly a POV Gruntys Revenge? I mean, is I could do this I would totaly make my fantasy Banjo-Game, Grunty strikes back. I really do wish to know, so do tell abbuawad, do tell.

    Re: banjo Kazooie replica

I choose banjo-kazooie because of the solid level structure. It doesn't have to many ''big rooms, small houses'' places, and it's placed in a giant ''building'', so it doesn't involve building to much sky.

Building something like this seriously takes alot of time, building it to the right size takes alot of time, and modeling the things also will take alot of time.

We would probably need to trade the vehicles trough xbox live, or if the file is too large, we would need to trade memory cards.

Also wert, the engine would have to do less proccesing if the vehicle would be one complete structure, that's the main plan. Infact, lagg would reduce alot if the engine sees the vehicle as one big part instead of all parts seperate.

But then you would have to drastically modify the game engine...Which is a lot more work than it sounds.

Who here even has a dev kit anyway? Its kind of necessary for any form of modding besides the relocation of vehicle parts...
