    Framerate and Freezing

I am having issues with the Frame Rate getting really low when I am around water, for example the entrance to Clanker's Level.

Also my xbox would completely lock up at "random" when I was around Conga.

I saw over at the Xbox.com forums that at least 1 other person is having the issue of frame rate slow down near water.  My brother is not having any of the issues I am.  We both have the HDMI white Xbox.  He runs in standard definition though, maybe I should try that.....

Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

    Thanks

    Re: Framerate and Freezing

I'm at the final fight now, and I had the same problems as you. I have an Arcade 360 using HDMI and I had some horrible slowdown around areas with lots of water around walls, or picking up something rare, like an acorn. Mine never locked up completely, but I'm betting it has something to do with our HDMI, because I read a lot of reports on how the framerate was so smooth in this version.

    Re: Framerate and Freezing

I'd very rarely get slow framerate in the N64 version, but it's happening a lot in BK XBLA. I have all those problems you guys said, and sometimes when I'm just moving through an open area. I'm using the component cables on an 1080i HDtv set to 1080i. The game runs at 720p. Maybe it won't freeze or slow down when the tv is set to 720p or lower?

    Re: Framerate and Freezing

I am running at 1080p on component cables and my brother is running standard def (480i?) on component.

I am going to try turning down the resolution tonight.

    Re: Framerate and Freezing

I am getting some framerate drops aswell.  Like, as the OP said, underwater, and in Clankers Cavern (especially when those big slugs come out of the holes in the wall).

    Re: Framerate and Freezing

Same problems here. Framerate drops in and around water or when there are a lot of objects on screen and a speech bubble pops up. The game select screen will lag for a few seconds when I press start at the title screen. I'm using HDMI and running at 1080i.

Edit: Switched to component, no change. Switched to 720p and it now runs smooth with no slowdown. Looks like the problem is running it in 1080i!

    Re: Framerate and Freezing

I haven't had any framerate problems at all. Even when I'm in water, it's still just fine. The only thing I could say, is at the beginning after you press start, there is sort of a pause, and then it picks up. Other than that, nothing has happened.

I'm on a Samsung HDTV that goes up to 1080i, with my 360 running at 720p with the official 360 component cables (dunno if that makes a difference). My TV does have HDMI input, but I don't use it anyways, since my 360 was made before they started adding the HDMI ports in the back.

Don't see why you guys would be having that problem.

    Re: Framerate and Freezing

I have just received an update about this problem:

We are looking into the frame rate problems that occur when viewing the game in 1080i/1080p whilst using component or HDMI inputs. In the meantime, switching to 720p (using component cables or HDMI) will solve the problem.

I hope that helps guys Smile [:)]

    Re: Framerate and Freezing

Thanks bro.  I was using 1080p, so I'll try switching to 720p.  I'll try that this afternoon.

The only serious problem I have are at the main menu. It freezes for about 5 seconds then keeps loading. And congrats, Apollos, on already beating BK? If only I got the code a day earlier. Oh, well.

    Same here.
It still pauses at the main title screen fro a few seconds, though.
